Hi, I'm Tamatha.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified EMDR Therapist, and I work with adolescents, adults, and high-performing individuals who are navigating trauma, stress, and major life transitions.

My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to make sense of what you’ve been carrying.

Tamatha Word, African American EMDR therapist and LPC-MHSP offering virtual trauma therapy in Tennessee and Georgia.

My Approach

To Therapy

My approach is grounded in helping you feel more regulated, more aware of your patterns, and more confident in how you respond to life’s challenges.

We often start by building tools to calm the body and reduce overwhelm. From there, we can begin to process deeper experiences using evidence-based approaches like EMDR and other trauma-informed therapies.

This work isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you better understand yourself and move forward in a way that feels more aligned and sustainable.

I work with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change, even if they’re not exactly sure where to start yet.

  • Adolescents and emerging adults navigating stress and identity

  • College students adjusting to new environments and expectations

  • Professionals experiencing burnout, career shifts, or forced transitions

  • Individuals working through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or depression
